What is ryd fleet?
ryd fleet is a fully digital, app-based payment operating system for fleets. Drivers simply fuel and charge via the ryd app – without any physical fuel card, PIN, or paper receipts. All transactions are captured in real time in our portal and can be managed centrally.
What makes ryd fleet better than traditional fuel cards?
ryd fleet is purely digital – no physical cards, no lost receipts, no manual billing, and no fraud risk. Fleet managers always have full visibility and can conveniently manage drivers, limits, and transactions in the portal. Our solution is also ideal for mixed fleets.

Is ryd fleet also suitable for electric vehicles and mixed fleets?
Yes. ryd fleet supports ICE vehicles, electric vehicles, and mixed fleets equally. Charging is included at no extra cost – this clearly sets ryd fleet apart from traditional fuel card providers, who often charge separately for e-mobility or don’t cover it at all.

With ryd fleet, you benefit from 100% coverage* across Europe. Only ryd fleet provides access to over 1.5 million fuel stations, charging points, and car washes in Europe, of which 1.2 million are fully integrated ryd acceptance points where you can pay directly from the car or via app.

How do I get started with ryd fleet?
Create your free ryd fleet account in less than a minute. After that, you’ll immediately get access to our ryd fleet portal, where you can add drivers and a payment method.
What do my drivers need to get started?
After you add your drivers in the portal, all drivers automatically receive a welcome email with a link to download the ryd app and an individual registration code. A separate email address per driver is helpful – if that’s not possible, contact us, we have a solution for that too.
Do I receive support during onboarding?
Yes. Our team supports you with setting up the Fleet Portal and configuring driver access. Additionally, you can sign up for a webinar where we answer all your drivers’ questions. You’ll also find all important answers on our FAQ page.
What features does the ryd fleet portal offer?
In the ryd fleet portal, you can create and remove driver profiles, view fueling and charging transactions in real time, set monthly limits per driver, record and analyze mileage, and centrally access all transactions and invoices – all from one dashboard.
Can I set fueling limits per driver?
Yes. In the portal, you can define monthly fueling limits for your drivers. This way, you maintain cost control without having to manually review every transaction.
Can I add or remove drivers at any time?
Yes, at any time. You create new drivers in the portal and remove access with just a few clicks – no card shipping, no waiting time.
How can I see the mileage of my vehicles?
Drivers enter the mileage directly in the app during fueling or charging. You can make this entry mandatory in the portal for individual or all drivers. The mileage is automatically transmitted and displayed in the portal – useful for maintenance planning and cost analysis.
What payment methods can I use with ryd fleet?
With ryd fleet, you can choose whether to pay via company SEPA direct debit, SEPA prepay method, or credit card. The only differences are the billing method and the acceptance network. Only with SEPA do you benefit from 100% coverage* across Europe.

How does billing via SEPA direct debit work?
With SEPA direct debit, all transactions from your fleet are collected and debited from your company account three times per month (on the 1st, 11th, and 21st). This saves effort and ensures clear, regular billing.
Do I receive a consolidated invoice or individual receipts?
That depends on your payment method: With SEPA direct debit, you receive a consolidated statement for all transactions in the billing period. With credit card, each driver receives an individual invoice directly after the transaction via email. In the Fleet Portal, you can view and download all receipts individually at any time.
How does the SEPA prepay method work?
The SEPA prepay method is a balance-based model that provides simple cost control, especially for smaller fleets and start-ups. You transfer a predetermined amount monthly via SEPA direct debit or bank transfer to your ryd account. This amount serves as digital credit for your drivers’ fueling and charging transactions. Spending is firmly capped, and no credit check is required as with the company SEPA direct debit method.
How does paying with ryd work at the fuel station?
Open the ryd app at the fuel station – your location is automatically detected. Select the pump number and follow the instructions in the app (Pre Pay or Post Pay, depending on the station). Fuel as usual and wait for the green confirmation screen. Do not leave the station until you see this confirmation.
What is the difference between Pre Pay and Post Pay?
With Post Pay, you fuel first and pay afterwards – as is standard in Germany. With Pre Pay (e.g. Aral, Esso), you select a maximum amount before fueling, which is reserved in advance. However, only the actual amount fueled is charged. The app automatically detects which mode applies at each station and guides you through the steps.
Is the full maximum amount actually charged with Pre Pay?
No. The maximum amount is only a pre-authorization (reservation). Only the actual amount fueled is ever charged. For example, if you select 100 Euro but fuel for 63 Euro, only 63 Euro is charged. The difference is released immediately.
How can I fill up completely at a Pre Pay station?
Simply select a maximum amount that is safely above your fueling needs – e.g. 150 Euro for a 60-liter tank. You only pay the actual amount in the end.
Are there discounts on fuel prices?
Yes. If you opt for the paid ryd fleet plus plan, your drivers receive discounts on fuel prices. We share the exact terms in a personal consultation and they are also visible in our savings calculator on the website.
Do you pay the pump price or the list price?
Fleets using the free version of ryd fleet pay the pump price with no additional discounts. For smaller fleets of up to 20 vehicles using ryd fleet plus, a discount on the pump price applies; from 20 vehicles, the list price applies (ryd fleet enterprise). We share the exact terms in a personal consultation.
How do I start a charging session with ryd?
Open the ryd app and switch to the EV view (green lightning bolt). Select a charging station nearby, choose the correct connector, and authorize the charging session (80 Euro is reserved in advance – only the actual amount is charged). Then connect your vehicle. You can end the charging session at any time directly in the app.
How much does charging with ryd cost?
The costs depend on the charging station provider, the charging speed, the location, and the time of day – not on ryd. You will always see all applicable fees displayed in the app before authorization.
How do I buy a wash ticket with ryd?
Select a car wash in the app (purple on the map), choose your desired wash program, and pay directly via the app – no need to go to the register. Please note that not all wash programs are available at every facility. The programs shown in the app can be booked directly via ryd.
At which car washes can I pay with ryd?
Currently mainly at IMO and ENI car washes in Germany. All available locations are marked in purple on the map in the ryd app. The network is continuously expanding.
Why is ryd fleet more secure than traditional fuel cards?
ryd fleet is fully digital – this eliminates classic fraud risks such as lost or stolen fuel cards. Every transaction is uniquely assigned to a driver and vehicle. With the add-on ryd fleet verify, vehicle data (fuel level, mileage) can additionally be matched in real time with the transaction – suspicious activities are automatically blocked.
How secure is paying with ryd fleet?
Very secure. ryd is PCI-DSS certified, does not store credit card data, and uses Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) for all payments.
What happens if a driver's phone is stolen?
You can immediately deactivate the driver's access in the Fleet Portal – no call, no waiting time. The access is blocked within seconds.
What is ryd fleet AI?
ryd fleet AI is an algorithm-based cost optimization tool. It calculates fuel prices and driving routes in real time and directs drivers to the cheapest fuel station within a 10 km radius – without detours. Paid add-on for ryd fleet plus.
What is ryd fleet verify?
ryd fleet verify is a security module for fraud prevention. With every fueling transaction, the vehicle's VIN is matched in real time against fuel level, fuel type, mileage, and transaction data. Irregularities are immediately blocked – before damage occurs. Industry analyses estimate 2–5% fuel cost losses due to misuse. Paid add-on for ryd fleet plus.
What is ryd fleet charge@home?
ryd fleet charge@home is the fully automatic solution for tax-compliant billing of home charging sessions. Important: From 2026, the tax-free charging allowance has been abolished – the tax authorities require exact kWh documentation. ryd captures home charging sessions directly from the vehicle (GPS geofencing + OEM data), without requiring a wallbox and without manual readings. Paid add-on for ryd fleet plus.
Can I use ryd directly from my car?
Yes – provided your vehicle is supported. The ryd app is integrated directly into the infotainment system of certain vehicles (including Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and Skoda). As soon as you arrive at a partner station, the payment process starts automatically in the vehicle. Currently, only credit card is available as a payment method for the automotive app.
What should I do if something doesn't work at the fuel station?
Drivers can send a report directly via the ryd app. Fleet managers can see all transactions in the Fleet Portal and contact support if needed. Please do not leave the fuel station until you have received a payment confirmation.
